What is the real damage?

The real damage calculates the true cost of a purchase using your own unique financial situation. Unlike most debt calculators, we don't show how much something will cost if you carry the balance on your credit card. We show you how much you'd save if you never purchased the item in the first place, and instead used the money to pay down your debt. Reverse the logic, and what we end up with is the amount that purchase truly costs you.

Knowing the true cost of something, allows you to make informed financial decisions.

If those designer jeans, on sale for $75 would really cost you $168... wouldn't you think twice before buying them?

What's my real damage? We use your own finacial situation to customize the real damage to you, however to get you up and running quickly we've added some default information. You don't need to worry about privacy because no information leaves this page. Not to us, not to another server, not even across the Internet. All calculations are performed on your local machine and disappear when you leave this page.

How To... Simply enter your credit card details, and how much you want to spend and then click on "What's the damage?"

Do you often make additional monthly payments on your debt? Perfect, enter the total additional monthly payments in the box provided and it will be included in your real damage calculation.

Tips If you don't already make additional monthly payments, try calculating your real damage first, and then see how much of a difference it would make if you also paid an extra $50 a month off your balance. You'll be surprised at the difference it makes!
